Opel GTC To Be Unveiled in Geneva

Over here in North America, we never get our hands on an Opel, at least not directly. The Opel GT Roadster has a strong relationship with the hugely popular Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky, though, so I won't be all that astonished if they translate the recently unveiled Opel Gran Turismo Coupe (GTC) into a North America-friendly model some time in the future. In the meantime, you can waltz on over to the Geneva Motor Show this week to check out the hot new concept destined for the European market.

From what I can gather, it looks like a luxury coupe with plenty of power, which is quite different from the zip-around-the-corners Pontiac Solstice drop-top roadster. There's plenty of goodies to be found in the GTC, including all-wheel-drive, a 300 horsepower turbo V6, and General Motor's next-generation "Vectra" platform. Well, at least it's based on the Vectra.
