There are four many characteristics in a diamond called as the 4 Cs. Carat, Clarity, Color and Cut differentiates one diamond from another. An amazing quality of a diamond is its hardness. No substance or no other metal can scratch a diamond except for a diamond. In other words, a diamond can scratch a diamond. Hence the term “diamonds are forever”.
Diamonds have interesting history. Diamonds were first discovered in India around 3000 years ago. Chinese are the first people to use diamond as a tool to drill holes into jade and other beads. Diamonds became a rare commodity in the European nation as Christians out rightly rejected diamonds. The most popular diamond in the history is the Kohinoor diamond. It was owned by several kings in the Indian sub-continent before it was stolen by the British when they ruled over India. It is now a part of Crown Jewels of England. The Kohinoor diamond has been believed to be cursed as every empire that has owned the diamond has faced downfall. Even British had to let go of the Indian colony when they possessed (stole) the diamond from India.
Diamonds having such great history has a bright and illustrious future as the demand rises exponentially. Women still adore it for its luster and the glitter. There are several jewels made out of diamonds these days. Different diamond jewelry that adorn a woman are aquamarine rings, necklaces, bracelets, pendants, ear rings, nose rings, hair drops, waist bands and many others. Think of any jewel, it could be integrated with diamonds to give it a charm like nothing else.
